What really resonates with me is "Be gentle with yourself." Sometimes, I feel like your inner voice can be so critical...and I say this as a Mom of three very direct kids!

Through my menopause journey, research from Dr. Stacy Sims and Dr. Mary Claire has been hugely helpful in understanding this process and seeking treatment for many of my symptoms.

I am going to be 65 in January and holy hell - loved your LinkedIn post but was NOT sharing this on LI. It has been a ride that started when I was late 40s. I don't even know where to begin - spotting for years and years and years. My clear sharp brain turned to MUSH and I had B2B case studies to write - that's my specialty. Don't even get me started on SEX - OUCH AGONY when I finally met a GREAT guy at 57. Weight gain was 5 to 7 lbs but it made me CRAZY! Most of my friends did it without HRT - I was on low-dose birth control til I was 60 to control the spotting, not sleeping etc etc- then DR A. said NO - you are 60!!!!!!! And the roller coaster began again. HRT is $100 a month. I had no idea how much of my body could be affected by my damn hormones or that when I finally told the doctor she said: "OH that is menopause. This will help!" Who knew - there are specific hormone delivery methods to help with most of the annoyances. Gyno wanted to "clean me out" when I started spotting again in February 2024 and his HRT made it worse. Back to old HRT again and hello no surgery required. Fingers crossed and don't want to jinx it. Great guy got a job with benefits and I'm sleeping, not spotting, and my brain came back WOOHOOO. I'm in Greektown Riverdale - you? A walk would be grand when I get back in mid November
